Young Criminal

Eric Smith was born on january 22, 1980 in America, at the age of 13 he was put into jail because he murdered a four year-old boy named Derrick Robie because he was being bullied by Robie. The young Robie had been strangled, had large rocks dropped on his head, and had been sodomized with a small stick. When Smith was being asked why did he did it. Smith can't give a definite answer. A psychiatrist diagnosed Smith with intermitteint explosive disorder, a conditon in which a person can't control inner rage. Smith was convicted and went to prison. as of today, he's been in prison for 6 years and has been denied parole five times

.

While in jail, Smith wrote an apology letter to Robie's family; he read it on public television: "I know my actions have caused a terrible loss in the Robie’s family, and for that, I am truly sorry. I've tried to think as much as possible about what Derrick will never experience: his 16th birthday, Christmas, anytime, owning his own house, graduating, going to college, getting married, his first child. If I could go back in time, I would switch places with Derrick and endure all the pain I've caused him. If it meant that he would go on living, I'd switch places, but I can't."
That’s why for those who were bullying, better stop what you are doing. Please consider the feelings of those kids like you that you made fun of.
